At 55 months of age this amazing female is the 2018 National Fawn Reserve Color Champion in halter!! Princessa was also awarded Grand Champion at the 2018 National Western Stock Show under AOA Judges Sara Jane Mcclennan and Laurel Shouvlin! And she also took the Blue in the highly competitive fleece show! What makes this even more exciting is that Princessa won these at 53 months old!
A gorgeous dark fawn, vicuna patterned female, Color Champion Ares' La Princessa is a dynamic combination fleece and conformation. An extremely consistent, very bright, exquisitely fine fleece exhibiting high frequency and zipper crimp covers her very feminine, well-balanced, compact frame from top knot to tail. Her 2016 histogram bears witness to her fineness and consistency with a 19.3 AFD and an SD of4.5. Her stellar fleece qualities put her at the top of her class at the 2017 AOA National Halter Show to win 1st place AND the Reserve Color Championship in Walking Fleece! This is her 2nd banner, having won blue and fawn Color Championship at 2015 TxOLAN.
The genetic stars were aligned to produce La Princessa: her sire is the 2011 AOBA Reserve Color Champion in halter, Sunny Mesa's Ares de Archangel. Ares is a veritable 'Who's Who' of alpaca elite; his sire is CCNF Archangel, with Zephyrus and Snowmass Legacy Gold as grand sires. At 4 years, Ares won 2 more Reserve Color Championships, in halter and fleece, as well as being awarded the 'Spirit of the Industry' award recognizing the alpaca who holds or increases value by maintaining a fleece that stays commercially viable at the highest quality over time. He passes on this lasting fineness and fleece quality to his cria from white to color! Her dam, Sunny Mesa's Tuscany, is a multiple champion, daughter of Sunny Mesa's Royal Troon (MFI Brock son/Augusto grandfather). Tuscany also adds Mr. President to La Princessa's world-class bloodlines.
Princessa has officially retired from the show ring, having won a blue in halter at 2018 GWAS, and a 3rd in 'Produce of Dam' for her dam, Sunny Mesa's Tuscany, to produce some equally stunning babies!
